Sam Solis
Sam began his martial arts training in 1972 while in the Marine Corps. In 1978 he joined Texas Karate Institute. Little did he know that the man that sold him a Black belt course (Allen Steen) would become known as the “Father of Texas Karate”. Today, the Allen Steen legacy still lives and Sam feels fortunate to have begun his training with this living legend.
Today, some thirty two years after opening National Karate Academy, Sam continues to teach and be associated with AKBBA. He reached the rank of fourth degree Black belt in 1991 and still pursues new techniques which will help sharpen his and his student’s skills.
